Welcome to the World Wide Data Vault Consortium in Europe!

The World Wide Data Vault Consortium (WWDVC) is an annual gathering that focuses upon presenting the latest trends as well as innovations within Big Data, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Data Analytics and Data Vault. The WWDVC became one of the most renowned and authoritative Data Vault conferences over the years since its first beginnings within the United States.

And for the first time since the inaugural gathering, the WWDVC has found its way across the pond to Europe. This year, 2019, saw the WWDVC bring together leading minds for a gathering in Hanover (Germany) focused on the exchange of new innovations, the exploration of exciting case studies, and the chance to push the industry as a whole towards greater achievements.

With the successes from the previous years fresh in mind, this year’s conference began with an opportunity to share some hands-on experience for all those joining as they were able to enjoy two days filled with chances to explore the many innovative tools available within the industry.

Once those two full days of hands-on learning experiences came to an end, Dan Linstedt, the inventor of Data Vault 2.0, opened the second half of the conference, dedicated to lectures, with an informative presentation exploring the future of data architecture and the place of automation moving forward within the industry.

Adding to the list of engaging presentations, the father of data warehousing, Bill Inmon, explored the importance of context within data as well as the need for data architecture along with the increasing relevance of unstructured data.

As did Scott W. Ambler, Chief Scientist of Disciplined Agile, who presented an in-depth look at Disciplined Agile and the inherent challenges organizations face with making agile transformations, in addition to the practices organizations’ teams can adopt to improve their work within their fields.

In addition to the deeply informative presentations, participants at this year’s WWDVC EU had the opportunity to engage with keynote speakers regarding issues currently facing the industry as well as some of the current topics of point within two separate panel discussions.

The entire program was complemented by exciting activities such as Chi-Gung sessions as led by Kent Graziano, a Data Vault Game organized by Cindi Meyersohn, as well as a chance to relax and connect with other participants with a tour through a brewery.

That being said, we’d like to express heartfelt gratitude to all of the participants, sponsors, and contributors that made WWDVC EU 2019 an amazing experience for all as it leads into new events to come!
